"Cutting One Out"
(Click picture for larger image)
|
| Bob
Landis commissioned local artist Todd Fredericksen to paint
this scene from the National Geographic Film, "Return
of the Wolf", of the Crystal Creek wolf pack hunting
elk in the Lamar Valley of Yellowstone National Park. The
scene also appears in
"Yellowstone Wolves: Predation", a production
of Trailwood Films and Bob Landis (soon available on this
web site).
Todd's finished work shows the alpha pair of the Pack cutting
out one elk based on its vulnerability, a method of culling
weaker members out of the group and contributing to the overall
vitality and resilience of the herd. Todd's style is detailed
and realistic, a beautiful work from a self-taught artist
of intrinsic native talent.
Each print is numbered and from a limited edition run. Print
size is 21 x 34 inches, image size is 15 1/2 x 30 inches
and ready for framing. At this price, it is a genuine value
for collectors of wildlife art. |

|
| This
painting depicts the first exploration of the pups of the East
Fork Pack in Denali National Park of Alaska. The scene was
filmed by Bob Landis who commissioned Todd Fredericksen to
paint this action moment. The female and one yearling "helper"
member of the pack are taking the four nervous pups on
their first exploration of the tundra against the backdrop
of the Alaska Range and the Toklat River.
The print is a numbered limited edition of 500 prints. It
is painted in a naturalistic style by Todd who is a true
outdoorsman and a superbly talented self-taught artist. Print
size is 18 x 34 inches, image size is 12 1/2 x 30 inches,
ready for framing. |

"New Alpha Male" (Click picture for larger image)
|
| Bob
Landis filmed an incredible action of the Druid wolf pack accepting
a non-pack member as the new alpha male. This process took
place over a period of six hours and is shown in the National
Geographic Film, "Return
of the Wolf". It is an amazing sequence since such
action had never been witnessed, even by wolf researchers.
Bob has commissioned local artist Todd Fredericksen to paint
this key moment as the alpha male is accepted by the female
of the pack. Todd's painting is richly detailed and a prime
example of his meticulous craftsmanship and talent. It is
a most excellent rendering of a unique and unusual moment
in wolf lore. This is a numbered limited edition print of
300 that have been printed. Print is 23 x 27 inches, image
size is 18 x 21 3/4 inches, ready for framing. |

"Stealing an Otter's Catch" (Click picture for larger image)
|
| Bob Landis filmed this scene while working on
a film of otters for Partridge Films and the BBC. This was
an amazing scene as the coyote tries to steal a fish from an
otter who has just brought it up from Yellowstone Lake in order
to eat it. Coyotes are actually able to increase their
own chances of survival during bitter winters in just this
way ...stealing fish. The otters are so proficient at capturing
fish their own survival isn't affected. It is a common
moment, but still an amazing one.
Bob has again commissioned Todd Fredericksen to paint
this astonishing sight ...a painting which should be envied
by collectors of wildlife art, and by those who simply
love wildlife and nature in it's infinite variety. Todd's
style is amazingly detailed and gratifyingly realistic.
It is 36 by 28 inches, ready for framing. |
